The one-minute summary
Ourdream AI wins points for transparency: it lists what nearly every action costs. Add published DreamCoin prices (rechecked: 1 coin/message for non-subscribers), above-average memory features and an annual plan that works out to $9.99 a month, and it is an easy recommendation for chat and still images. Video is the exception. It is coin-hungry, and users regularly describe clips that fail or ignore what they asked for.
A good match for: ongoing stories with one character, people who like building characters, anyone who wants to see prices before paying

First things first: what is Ourdream AI?
Put simply, Ourdream AI (ourdream.ai) is a website where adults 18+ chat with AI characters. You can start from a premade character or make your own, and besides chatting you can exchange AI-generated images, ask for short video clips and, with a paid plan, make voice calls.
It went live around early 2025, so it is a newer name than Candy AI, although it has grown quickly and its homepage talks about millions of users (not something we could verify). Its current terms name Dream Studio USA, Inc. (a Delaware corporation) as the company behind it. There is no mobile app in the App Store or Google Play; the help centre shows you how to add the site to your home screen.
Safety basics before you sign up
- Data handling. Chats and generations are kept on Ourdream's servers. The help centre describes deletion as permanent, covering chats, generations and unused coins, completed in 24–48 hours. We did not find any public data breach. Ourdream says chat messages go to third-party AI model providers to generate replies, and its privacy policy allows using your data to train its own AI models. Stay private but assume you are not anonymous: skip real names, addresses and photos of real people.
- Content. Mature content settings are offered to adults. The community rules forbid minors in any mature-content context and reject slurs plus several other themes.
- 18+. Ourdream AI is strictly for adults 18+. You pass an age gate on entry, self-declared in most places; in the UK and Australia, and wherever local law requires it, an outside provider (Go.cam or AgeVerif) runs an extra identity check.
- Overspending. Subscription plus coins is an easy way to spend more than planned. Fix a budget before you use video or voice calls.
Should you start here?
Ourdream AI suits you if you enjoy long-running stories with the same character, want to shape a companion in detail and mostly care about chat and still images. It also fits people who like to know what each action costs before they commit.
Skip it if AI video is the main attraction, because that is where users report the most frustration and the highest costs. It is also a poor fit if you need a native mobile app, or if you want to pay with crypto and keep the option of a refund. What you can do on it
Character creation
The builder covers appearance, personality, scenario, example dialogue and voice, in realistic or anime styles. Public characters are manually reviewed before they are listed, and paid plans unlock group chats with several characters.
Memory tools
Ourdream keeps an automatic memory log that refreshes about every 20 AI messages, plus a pinned-memories box you edit yourself, reportedly enlarged to 15,000 characters in 2026. In public user feedback, consistency and long-term recall are praised more than anything else. Because the log summarises rather than transcribes, minor details from early sessions can slip away unless you pin them. Conversation
Ourdream is built around chat. Paying users can send unlimited messages on the standard models, and the Genius and Lively Genius "thinking" models cost a DreamCoin per reply (free on the Deluxe tier). Reviews describe the writing as coherent and flexible for different scenarios, if sometimes flowery in long scenes. The underlying model is not officially named; some outside sources say DeepSeek, but Ourdream has not confirmed it.
AI video
Reportedly 100 coins per five seconds, with extra fees for "ultra" quality and for adding audio. Video attracts more complaints than anything else on the platform; reviewers and people posting on Trustpilot mention failed jobs and off-prompt clips.
Talking by voice
A handful of narration voices cost nothing, and the premium voices are paid in coins. A live call reportedly uses about 50 coins per minute. The usual verdict on quality: solid, not outstanding.
Image costs
Third parties summarising the help centre's cost guide list about 10 coins for two standard images and about 5 for an in-chat image. Reviewers find that faces hold up fairly consistently between generations.

Our pricing advice. If you already know you will stick around, the annual plan is the better deal at half the monthly cost over twelve months. Undecided users should sample coin-paid messages first (help centre: 1 coin each, no free coins; other Ourdream pages say you get 55 coins at sign-up).
Paying. Use a card or cryptocurrency; PayPal is not among the listed methods.
Refunds. Third-party write-ups say there is no refund once more than 25% of a product has been used, and crypto payments are never refunded.
Your media after cancelling. Reports say earlier images and videos become blurred when the plan lapses and stay that way until you pay again. Save anything important first.
Auto-renewal. Every plan, Deluxe included, renews by itself until you cancel from your profile page.
How far coins go. Roughly 200 standard images, or about 20 minutes of voice calls, or not even two 30-second videos at around 600 coins each. Chat-first users will find the subscription covers most of what they do; video-heavy users will almost certainly be buying top-ups.
Top-up prices. Official prices from Ourdream's coin shop: 1,000 coins for $11.99, 5,000 for $49.99, 20,000 for $159.99. An active plan is reportedly required. Can I try Ourdream AI for free?
You can try without a card, but the help centre says non-subscribers pay 1 coin per message and no free coins are given (other Ourdream pages say you get 55 coins at sign-up); earlier third-party reports of a daily free allowance appear outdated. Paid plans unlock voice calls, video, group chat and unlimited messaging.
What are the paid prices?
Officially $19.99 per month, or $119.88 per year ($9.99 a month). Each includes 1,000 DreamCoins monthly, and the yearly plan starts you off with an extra 1,000. Above that sits Deluxe at $59.99 a month or $359.88 a year, with 5,000 coins a month and 3x chat memory.
Do I need to download an app?

Will my pictures disappear if I cancel?
They are not deleted but, per the help centre and independent reviews, they are blurred after your subscription ends until you resubscribe. Save them beforehand.
Is it safe for a beginner to use?
Named companies operate it, deletion is documented and we found no reported breach. Ourdream says chat messages go to third-party AI model providers to generate replies, and its privacy policy allows using your data to train its own AI models. If chat, memory and character creation are what you care about, Ourdream AI is one of the better options, and one of the most upfront about prices. Sample with coins first, move to the annual plan if the writing works for you, and treat video as an unreliable extra rather than a reason to buy. Download your images before any cancellation.
